SCORE GUIDE
Understanding Your Score
Completed the test and wondering what your score actually means? This comprehensive guide breaks down every score range, what it says about your life experiences, and how you compare to millions of other test-takers worldwide.
The Score Scale (0-100)
Your Rice Purity Test score ranges from 0 to 100:
- 100 = Completely “pure” — you’ve experienced none of the 100 listed experiences
- 0 = Completely “experienced” — you’ve done all 100 things on the list
Most people score between 50-75, with the global average around 68.
Important Reminders:
- Not a judgment — No score is “better” or “worse”
- Not scientific — This is for entertainment, not psychology
- Not comprehensive — The test covers 100 specific experiences, not all of life
- Just a snapshot — Your score reflects experiences at this moment in time

What Your Score Does NOT Mean
Moral Worth
A high score doesn’t make you a “good person” and a low score doesn’t make you “bad.”
Intelligence
Smart people score everywhere from 0-100. There’s no correlation.
Future Success
Your purity score has zero predictive power for career, relationships, or happiness.
Character Quality
Kindness, integrity, and empathy aren’t measured by yes/no questions about experiences.
Superiority or Inferiority
You’re not “better” than someone with a different score — just different life paths.
How Scores Change Over Time
Most people’s scores decrease as they age and gain new experiences:
Typical Score Trajectory:
- 14 Age 14: Score 88
- 18 Age 18 (High school grad): Score 75
- 22 Age 22 (College grad): Score 58
- 25 Age 25: Score 52
- 30 Age 30: Score 48
It’s normal for your score to drop 20-30 points between ages 16-25.
Many people retake the test years later and see how they’ve changed.
Interpreting Results with Friends
Comparing Scores:
Similar scores (within 10 points):
You’ve likely lived similar lifestyles and made comparable choices.
Moderate difference (10-25 points):
Different life paths, but still relatable experiences.
Large difference (25+ points):
Very different life experiences and decision-making styles.
Category Comparison:
Even with similar overall scores, category breakdowns can be wildly different:
- You: 65 overall (Romance 40%, Social 80%, Academic 70%)
- Friend: 65 overall (Romance 85%, Social 45%, Academic 60%)
Same score, completely different experiences!
Score Compatibility (Duo Comparison)
When comparing with a friend, we calculate compatibility based on score similarity:
- 90-100% Compatible: Nearly identical scores (0-10 point difference)
- 80-89% Compatible: Very similar (11-20 point difference)
- 70-79% Compatible: Somewhat similar (21-30 point difference)
- 60-69% Compatible: Different paths (31-40 point difference)
- Below 60%: Very different life experiences (40+ point difference)
Note: Low compatibility isn’t bad! Different experiences make for interesting friendships.
Common Score Questions
“Is my score normal for my age?”
Check the age group averages above, but remember: “normal” varies widely. Anywhere from 40-90 can be perfectly normal depending on circumstances.
“Should I be embarrassed by my score?”
Absolutely not. Whether it’s 15 or 95, your score reflects your unique journey. No shame.
“Will my score affect my future?”
No. Employers, schools, and partners won’t see your Rice Purity Test score. It’s private and for personal reflection only.
“My score is lower than my friends’. What does that mean?”
It means you’ve had different experiences. That’s it. Not better, not worse — just different.
“Can I improve my score?”
You can’t un-experience things, so scores generally only go down over time. But “improve” implies higher is better, which isn’t true. Your score is just information, not a grade.
Using Your Score for Reflection
Instead of judging your score, use it to reflect:
Questions to Ask Yourself:
- Am I happy with the experiences I’ve had?
- Are there things I wish I’d done differently?
- Do I feel like I’m living authentically?
- Am I making choices aligned with my values?
- What do I want my score to be in 5 years?
The test is a mirror, not a judge.
Final Thoughts
Your Rice Purity Test score is a snapshot of your life experiences at this moment. It’s not:
- A measure of your worth
- A prediction of your future
- A judgment on your choices
- A competition with others
It’s simply a fun, reflective tool to see where you’ve been and maybe think about where you’re going.
Whether you scored 12 or 97, you’re exactly where you’re meant to be on your unique journey.
